It has been a fantastic week for the ‘Paul Ruane Team’ with all of us spending some time at the local Fiesta. Always so popular with tourists and residents alike. The Procession of the Virgen del Carmen followed by the fantastic fireworks display made it such a joy to be a part of and we consider ourselves very lucky to live here. Many of our clients who have bought property from us were there too and it gives us a great chance to socialise and catch up!  Nicky Wragg our manager here in Los Gigantes took  the photos and there are more on www.flickr.com for you to enjoy.

It’s been a great week here at the office of Los Gigantes. Not only did Spain win the cup but our administrator Vanessa also won one! Coming second in the yearly swim from Playa de la Arena to Playa de Puerto Santiago and it’s only the first time she has entered!

Tenerife weather beautiful this week. Where else would you wish to buy a property? Our local station is Power fm radio and  it promises the good weather is set to continue! Saturday 22nd May saw everyone enjoying dinner with lots of dancing in the Plaza in Los Gigantes. All this was to raise money for the annual Los Gigantes Carnaval. The website this year hosted by Sorted Sites is sponsored by Paul Ruane and Tipsy Terrace.

Entertainment was provided for all nationalities with vocalist Luis de Seda – English group ‘Old Dogs New Tricks’ and orchestra ‘Gomeray’. Over 200 people enjoyed the night dancing and supping the vinos and sangrias at the local stalls and bars and restaurants round about. There will be many events to raise money throughout the coming year in aid of Carnaval 2011 as those of you who visit here regularly will know and it’s all a part of the lifestyle in los Gigantes. The community spirit is second to no other and it’s a major reason to pick this part of the Island to purchase property or to just pay us a visit.  Let the fun begin!

Shop Till you want to Stop!

Tenerife offers many markets wherever your’e staying. The main ones are Santa Cruz-Los Cristianos-Torviscas- San Juan and Alcala. If you’re looking to buy absolutely anything and everything this is your chance. Haggling is expected so get your bargaining heads on. Great fun in the sun and afterwards pop into a local bar and have a well deserved long cool iced San Miguel or a Vina Sol then  its on with the beach gear and you’re sorted for the day!

Happiness is…Los Gigantes!

Being the new face here at Los Gigantes Properties office means I have been intoduced to so many nice new people who bought either years ago or recently but all of whom nip in to say hi when they are here.
Sara and Glenn  Hutchinson were introduced to me last week and what a nice couple they turned out to be. Explaining to me why they  loved Los Gigantes they were so enthusiastic it was a pleasure to listen to them.

‘’We had our first holiday here together and  we absolutley love it. We can walk-go to beautiful restaurants-have entertainment when we want too without it being pushed in our faces and the people in the village are some of the nicest we have . We are always astounded when someone who doesn’t know Los Gigantes remarks on it being only for ‘the older generation’. So untrue. You get a choice of eveything for every age and the feeling of beng safe  in this pretty village as well as having fun is just some of its appeal.’’

I totally agree. Whilst on our site why not browse some of our property available or go to our team and see who we are!

When Los Gigantes Properties asked for some  photos from clients we didn´t expect this one to turn up.! Paul Ruane (ex-president of Lions Club) with Ken Ward a few years previously. Paul is still heavily involved in charity and community work  and  is co-sponsor of  our Carnaval here in Los Gigantes for 2011.

I´m sure you will know that we offer other services from the Paul Ruane team,  one of which is ‘Megashop’ which is situated in Los Gigantes and offers a wide variety of goods. The competition currently running on Power fm with Val Richardson is to sing to ‘Paul on the Stall’. Our jingle and motto is ‘Buy more -pay less’ and San Juan market, where we have a small stall for those who can´t get to our shop, was a little livelier..and louder because of  it!

We are often asked why would we want to purchase a holiday home in Los Gigantes? Many many reasons .These photos show  just one of them.A recent day out enjoyed by  Nicky (office manager) with her family resulted in these stunning pics. Taken with a small digital camera (we kid you not) while enjoying ‘yo ho ho’ and a botttle of…water at sea. Our resident dolphins were in playful mood!

It was a great result for the Los Gigantes Mens team who swept the board with a 5-0 win against Club Andrea and a sweet success returning us back to the prestige of the 2nd division in Tenerife!

Having a win from each of the team to secure our place in the higher division gave us the boost we had all worked hard for. Well done to the team … a great team effort…..look out 2nd Divison!!
